Afternoon Girls! I thought I would talk about my latest project and share some decor inspiration for you. I’m working on a virtual project featuring a beautiful home in Georgia. The home is beautiful, but not the decor, it needs work, and that’s where I come in.
For the “Duarte Residence” project, we’re going for a clean look to accentuate the architecture in the home. The home was built in the early 1900s, and has beautiful architecture with high ceilings, those tall double doors, tray detail on the walls, and elegant trimming. Duarte Residence has the typical oak hardwood, but they wanted something different so I decided to go with concrete flooring. Usually, I would go with hardwood for a project similar, but I decided to do something more eye catching since our walls will recede, and I wanted to accent the flooring. Another area that we will focus on is the ceiling. The ceiling will be a rich gold, or a beautiful posh metallic silver…the battle is still going strong! The pops of color will come in from the coffee table books, artwork, and a pastel sofa that we’re going with.

Inspiration for You
When it comes to designing your home, you want to highlight those unique areas of your home, or areas that you want to highlight. I love a black wall, especially when it’s Caviar from Sherwin Williams or Ultra Pure White from Behr. With design, possibilities are endless and can be quite overwhelming when pulling inspiration from so many avenues. Whether you work with a professional or do it yourself, create a plan and stick to it. Stay true to your style, lifestyle, budget, and your personal interest. Design is very personal, and it involves seeing the bigger picture.
When I design, I design for you, not the designer or what’s on trend. Always remember, design is personal.
